Target: Marinade

My adventures today took me to Target.  Somehow, while shopping for organizers and picture frames, I found myself standing in the food section in front of Indian sauces and meal kits. One jar was Tandoori Marinade. Immediately, I knew I was having something with Indian flavoring for dinner, and I also knew that this would be my next Procurrent cooking assignment…

Using the ingredient list from the prefab sauce, I cobbled together what might be my biggest recipe triumph to date…or not.

This is what I mixed together:

  • Juice from one lemon
  • Three cloves of garlic, mashed
  • About a Tbls of Cumin
  • About 2 Tbls of honey
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • A couple of dashes of sea salt
  • Two knobs of fresh ginger, chopped

I let four chicken thighs stew with the marinade in a plastic bag for about 2-3 hours. Then I cooked them in the microwave for 30 minutes.

I steamed some basmati rice and a small head of broccoli. And…

De-licious!! Definitely fell on the triumph side of yum. I will perform the ultimate test tomorrow – the day-after meal. I have high hopes.
